    Position Summary:

     

    The primary responsibility of this position is to analyze price competitiveness and maintain the pricing database to maximize revenue and profitability, provides administrative and analytical support for purchasing operations and purchasing program activity lead.  In addition, they will develop and refine purchasing policies and procedures based on the direction from the Mazda purchasing team and work to accomplish departmental goals and company objectives.  The PAP Analyst will develop action plans to address issues and opportunities and communicate findings to Management.The PAP Analyst will interpret current and historic company parts and accessory sales and cost data. With the data, analyst will identify trends and relationships to competition at part number and price group levels. The Analyst will perform ongoing analyses to forecast the impact of suggested changes.

     

    Responsibilities

    Develop & Refine Purchasing Strategies

    • Develop purchasing policies and strategies in-line with the company objectives and Mazda purchasing global strategies.
    • Secure approval from management on any policy and/or strategy changes.
    • Plan and manage budget.
    • Review and make recommendations to management team for ways to improve inventory levels, procedures and reduce/eliminate slow-moving inventory.

    Develop & Refine Process & Procedures

    • Develop and refine processes and procedures (including IT system) in-line with the Mazda purchasing global process/procedures.
    • Improve current quality to meet purchasing operation requirements and company objectives.
    • Develop operation manuals and training plans.

    Departmental Support

    • Support Finance, Production Control and other related departments (i.e. Payment, Account Payable, Account Receivable, Delivery Order Releasing/Receiving/Invoicing, purchasing BOM, etc.).

    Track & Report Purchasing Performance

    • Develop and promote purchasing program sourcing policy and strategy aligned with Mazda purchasing to support competitive and efficient parts/materials sourcing activity of purchasing operations.
    • Track in-cycle cost improvement status of purchasing operations and report to management.

    Program Management

    • Track program purchasing costs and operations with the roadmap/action plan progress and report to management.
    • Track the progress of supplier launch readiness (including TO/PO issues and tooling fabrication status).
    • Elevate issues to management team as necessary to resolve issues.
    • Set up and maintain inventory records.



    Qualifications

    Education (Minimum):

     

    A completed Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field is preferred, however experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.

     

    Experience:  

    • 1 to 4 years in a related field (preferably in the automotive industry or for an OEM).
    • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite software (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) at intermediate level (minimum).
    • Familiarity with SAP (or another ERP System and, specifically, materials management).
    • Experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity, and efficiency measurements.

    • Ability to negotiate purchase & supply agreements (including contract development).
    • Ability to prepare, implement and conduct competitive bidding.
    • Ability to take initiative and determine appropriate actions logically.
    • Sound reasoning skill and ability to present ideas clearly and succinctly.
    • Previous buying experience in automotive industry strongly preferred or ability to demonstrate comparable knowledge and skills.
